How to stop chafing on long runs (before it starts)

Nearly every runner who has gone past 15km knows the feeling: a hot spot that becomes a sting, then a shower you dread. The good news is chafe is completely preventable with a two-minute routine.

Map your hot spots

Inner thighs, underarms, waistband, nipples and anywhere a seam sits. Apply anti-chafe before you dress, not after — clothing drags product off the exact spot you need it.

Reapply on the move

For anything over two hours, carry a stick. A quick pass at the halfway point is far more effective than doubling up at the start.

Kit matters as much as product

Flat-seam shorts, fitted layers and dry socks reduce friction before anything is applied. Combine the two and long runs stop ending in a cold-water shower.

Kit that backs it up

Natural, refillable body care made in the UK — deodorant, anti-chafe and recovery.
